~>Fury of the Wind<~ (A Bird RP)

Blizzard hopped onto a conveniently located tree stump. He ruffled his feathers and tucked in one of his feet. He appeared relaxed, like the whole ordeal with the huge-angry-gull hadn’t happened. The truth was, his mind was buzzing as he tried to think of the best way to track the gull safely. “That blood..” he said slowly, “wasn’t dried. So it was pretty fresh. If we search the ground, we might find a trail, but we could be attacked. If we search the sky, we could still be attacked.” They were only at the edge of Raven Territory, and Blizzard knew the repercussions of going in further. Especially now, with the Resistance around.

“I think this is Salty Fries!” Cement yelped. For once, panic had entered her voice. She thrashed around, and watched fearfully as the gull squawked at Russet’s attacks. The distraction allowed Cement to get free, but at the cost of several of her tail feathers. Once high in the air, she circled, her flight irregular due to her missing feathers. “We need to capture this gull.. alive.” She said, doubt creeping into her mind as she realized the impossibility of their task.

Fish Sticks continued to move the leaf around in his beak, not satisfied with its position. He looked remarkably like a goat. “Those pigeons are always tryin’ to make enemies.” He pointed out, his voice muffled strangely.
“How are we supposed to do that?” Russet said in a loud voice, as though he was battling some kind of wind. He hovered on the side of the gull opposite of Cement. “Ask her politely?”

“Out of all of the politics in all the places I’ve been to, yours is definitely among the most convoluted. It seems I’ve already become involved. What did you say this place was called?” Riski asked.

“It’s a risk we’re going to have to take,” Moonlight said.
A black-headed gull fluttered by, watching carefully for ravens. He was flying towards the trailer... “Right there!” Moonlight was barely able to squeak out.

Cement remained silent, observing the gull. It was strange, how reluctant she was to fly. Salty Fries watched them with beady orange eyes, but didn’t seem in any hurry to eat them. Perhaps she’s eaten recently. Cement shivered at the thought. The gull’s eyes followed her idly through the sky, then locked onto Russet. She squawked at them. Cement cocked her head back and forth as she flew, trying to gauge the mighty gull’s weakness. She dipped in her wings and got lower to the ground, perilously close to Salty Fries. The gull raised her wings. That’s when she finally realized why she hesitated to fly. Her back and flight feathers were damp with some kind of... oil?
The oil, or grease, or whatever it was, apparently made flying difficult. It clung to her feathers and gave her a brown-tinted appearance, as if she had been rolling in mud. I suppose that’s the danger of living in a dumpster.
She looped around the gull and darted back up to Russet’s height, relaying what she had just noticed.

“Oil?” Russet released a hysterical fear-induced laugh. “She can’t fly? Well isn’t this our lucky day? So do we plan to knock her out and carry her? Clearly we needed to bring more pigeon power.” A preposterous thought rose in his brain that was so ridiculous that Russet... being Russet, had to blurt out. “Or do we offer a personal preening service to her in exchange for her imprisonment?”

Cement gave him a weird look. “I don’t even know if she understands, or speaks, bird. That gull hasn’t said a word since we got here, only screeched at us.” Cement went quiet, pondering their situation. “Perhaps.. we could capture and bound her. Transport would be another matter.” She scanned the trash, hoping to see some sort of rope or wire they could use.

“A mute,” Russet mused. He knew they existed, but had never met a bird unable to communicate, and birds loved to blather, rivaled by only the Loud-stompers. Itwould be no wonder if such a bird was quite insane and a pigeon-eater, though Russet was currently wondering, “Just how stupid is she?” Because stupidity was a factor they needed to consider, and a possible weakness... or even a strength.
“Might this help?” Russet picked at the parka that had ensnared him with his beak, but he was only able to lift the corner an inch. “Too heavy.” He passed an eye around him.

Rocket nodded in understanding. “It seems I have domestic blood, too.” She said quietly, mostly to herself. “Hey, Nana, let’s take a break.” She cooed. She tucked in her wings and dipped down, flapping rapidly towards a telephone pole. Landing on it, she instantly started to preen her wings. Due to all the skirmishes she had gotten in recently, her feathers were in a disarray. And she was sore, which annoyed her, since she couldn’t fly for as long as she wanted to without breaks.

“This place? It’s a human-mover.” Fish Sticks said wisely. He finally swallowed the leaf, and it bobbed down his long throat. “That thing tasted like a plant.” He grumbled.

Blizzard whipped around, revealing that he had not been casually relaxing at all. “Should we interrogate them?” He muttered, lifting into the air and starting to follow the gull.

Didn't see your reply.)

*nana cocked her head before diving down after her. Preening was simply a part of her every day routine, so she kept her feathers clean really well.*

Nanae: its definitely hightly possible

“What about your parents?” Rocket said between her preening her right wing and her left wing. She stared enviously at Nana’s pristine feathers. Pigeons, though thought of as dirty birds both by loud-stompers and the other birds of the city, liked to stay clean, for the most part.

Riski was about to gape at the gull’s inferior intelligence before realizing it was his own fault for not providing enough background information for the question. “I know that,” he said quickly, recognizing the fairly universal birdism. “I meant your area. The one there’s so much dispute over with the pigeons, ravens, and gulls.”

“Catch first, interrogate later.” Moonlight said. “I’ll get his wings, you go for the legs.” Before it had been two against three. Now it was two against one.
