Both were full, the overflow filled the pond, and then backed up!

I moved the overflow hose out into the yard. It drained for about 15 minutes and flooded it...

The good news is the rainbarrel system worked!

But I need to figure out a better way to handle overflow.

Skipped working on the coop after work on Wednesday in order to finish preparing some of my raised beds for planting.

Wax and green beans

Carrots and peas

I took weedy clumps to the flock, and they enjoyed them, very much.

Look at Zacchaeus, he's not eating but watching over the others. GOOD ROO! :love

Rain is forecast for this evening, but the weather looks fair and dry for Friday and the weekend.

Next up, the hoop coop door!

Friday I cleaned my ponds, replaced a pump, and the connection between the spillway and the hose. It's dripping a little, will dismantle and add some Teflon tape.

Look at how clear it is now!

Saturday I worked on the new coop door. I didn't notice that the wood was warped. I'm very frustrated.

I probably will sand or plane the right side of the door. It hangs beautifully, swings open easily, but the vertical board is gapped at the top and bottom, tight in the middle. Nope, I don't think that has anything to do with my amateur carpentry abilities.
:barnie
Sunday after church I ignored the coop and instead prepared the ground and planted the blueberry bushes.

Weather has been mild, so I am doing as much in the yard as I can before the heat rolls in.

First hoop coop I built was with wood I had in the basement for 30 years....Was straight
The next coop was wood I bought for the coop. Took me 3 stores to find enough straight wood... and when assembled, it dried it warp :rantAll the wood seems to be crappy
Next 2 coops I went to the 70% off pile and bought crappy wood that was cheap. Turned out better than the 2nd coop wood.

I'm going to try trimming the door to see if I can make it work. I don't want to redo the door!

Our run door was perfect when it went in. Within days it had started to twist, varying with the humidity.

We have three latches on it. It can be quite the adventure to get them to all latch! But maybe they help fight the twisting. :idunno
