Are the motors specific to Olivers?? Or other tractor companies used same?
I know they are no longer produced,, so parts may be difficult to locate.
sadly the Oliver 55 like I have is unique to itself. Parts from the rest of the Oliver line are not compatable . most parts are used. there are a few tractor bone yards around that have some parts. The carburetor is the same as a ford tractor.
except it is mounted on the opposite side, so the adjustment screws are between the carb and the block.
Parts in general are more expensive than the parts for the rest of the Oliver line. Like three or four times as much.

I hid out indoors today. it rained off and on and was in the 40F's. can't handle both together.
The garlic has poked up through the mulch already. that's OK, I don't think we will be getting any hard freeze anymore.
I'm fighting creeping Charlie that's headed into the garlic bed.
It got away from me in part of a bed I didn't use last year

we had a real nice day today. I spent a long time outside.
removed the tree wrap from the new trees. they all look very good. lots of buds.
checked the elderberry bush for possible cuttings. found several good candidates.
came up to the garage to mix dirt for the rooting pots. that did me in. my back hurt so much i could barely walk to the house. came in and sat down. that always makes the pain go away.. I will go at it again tomorrow.
we have baby rabbits under the wheelchair ramp. I need an outdoor cat or two. where are the foxes that were always here for their chicken dinners?
an eagle flew over real low, but didn't stop for a rabbit. he used to help himself to chickens now and then, too.

We have 2 or 3 cottontails, they don't cause much trouble though we do have to protect the crocus.
we have at least three cottontails that we have seen at one time.
so far they have behaved themselves and limit their grazing to the blackberries. So I am leaving them alone. but the first apple tree or grape damage and all heck will break loose around here.
