As I was clearing the snow off my greenhouse (far left), I noticed some damaged panels. So I think I am going to rebuild this summer. Right now it is a 6x8 kit greenhouse. I think I'm going to replace it with a 10x15 hoop house, maybe one of the bootstrap farmers' DIT kits.

New plants for the year, Santa Fe grande pepper and a white tomato (the free one from baker creek). I already planted Mara des Bois strawberries. Also going to try growing shell (dry) beans.
Hopefully my French tarragon is still alive, I think it is supposed to die back in the winter?
Neat! What are French Tarragons? I've never heard of them!

Last year I had tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, orange and red peppers, cucumbers, zucchini and some herbs. My plan was to expand my beds and do a little more this year but I just got 2 puppies who have torn the snot out of my yard including my garden. :barnie Hoping I can temper that out of them in the next month or so but if not, I'm not sure how successful my garden is going to be at growing anything other than muddy paws. 🤪
Oof. Good luck! Thanks for the reminder, my pup might try to stomp in our garden too! I'll try to fence it off.

:eek:Your garden is stunning! Good luck with the greenhouse!

I need to get in gear and make some TP roll pots. I started my tomatoes and other things in those last year, and it went very well.

I'm trying a bunch of new tomatoes this year. Some determinate varieties with the idea that I'll get more 'maters for canning all at once. Also some really short season ones that I can plant in my "downhill" garden that is cooler than the "uphill" garden.

One other thing I'm going to try, just for fun, is some potatoes from seed. I got four seed balls on one of the varieties of potato I grew for the first time last year. We'll see what we get. It'll be my first foray into plant breeding, as anytime you grow TPS (true potato seed), you have no idea what might happen.

Yay! What sizes are your greenhouses? What herbs? :drool
Both greenhouses are 10x26. The main garden is 35x35.

I will do basil, oregano, sage, rosemary, thyme, parsley, chamomile, dill, mint, cilantro, and fennel from seed. I will buy French tarragon already started, as growing it from seed is nearly impossible.

I have a bunch of Heirloom seeds I will be attempting to grow in this challenging climate, mostly perennials. I have a small duck farm (78) and some chickens, so many are geared towards them, to save on feed. Luckily, we have 15 acres of pasture they will be on starting this spring. I recently popped a few different heirloom varieties of kale and lettuce, ducks love it. I have grown many types of herbs for years and will continue with that. I started my loveage and Anise Hissop yesterday. I have cuttings of rosemary, tarragon, and thyme that I will get into dirt shortly. I planted garlic in the fall and looking forward to harvest so I can eventually increase the garden size to at least a 1/4 acre, hopefully more. I have some comfrey plants that I am hoping to propagate in mass along with stinging nettle for fodder for all my poultry and 3 Dexter cattle. A greenhouse is being built this year so maybe I can get some hot peppers to grow, the wind and extreme dryness has made that a loosing venture in the past. I look forward to this time each year, it is always a learning experience.
