Oooh that sounds like fun! I'm new to hatching my own eggs, it's pretty neat. I'd looove to raise and sell poultry someday, I think it sounds funI have a Dark Cornish trio I'm hatching from this year and I have LF White Cornish eggs being shipped to me next week. I'm excited!
I've had several surprise broody hatches already this year, so adorable. They appear to be Belgian Quail/Silkie crosses, they're too young yet to see any resemblanceI had my first broody hatches last spring. I had another in the fall, and I hatched my first eggs in an incubator in Dec. I now have weekly hatches happening for the rest of the spring/summer for the Cornish. The only time I'm getting a break is when I can pop some eggs under a broody. It's a lot of fun.
Everything has gone smoothly thus far, hopefully it stays that wayFrom reading the other posts, I guess he is a cockerel. But I was going to say it could go either way. My rooster matured pretty slowly too, it's normal. Hope everything works out ok!
