Gosling having fits, think it’s a leg injury or vit b deficiency, not sure anymore

Bernadette started having seizuresAbout one every 30-60 seconds. It’s gotten bad, I want to help her end her misery but I don’t know if I have the heart to do that. I think the end is near 😭😖
I’m so sorry! I wish there was more I could do! Just try to keep her comfortable, that’s what matters most. Whatever you do you’ve done so much for her.

Wanted to update everyone after a really long week, and let everyone know the excellent news!!

Well, there were def a few days of seizures, but she stopped and started making progress a few days ago. Yesterday, she was standing slightly, and my husband was excited about it I guess he had a right to, because she has become our little Easter miracle baby! She is finally walking and she even is able to run a little bit (still wobbly) and she is able to feed herself (since yesterday) which is a HUGE accomplishment for her, since I've spent the last 5 days feeding and watering her by hand (since she just would lay on her side, then have a fit). It was like having a newborn. And Ive been giving her vitamins, cycling Nutri drench and another supplement that has niacin and also giving her that duck feed, as well as her oral dose of B complex every single morning. Whatever it is, worked. I am so shocked. I am still at a loss how she could have survived all those seizures she was having, but she wanted to live. I just couldn't bring myself to end her suffering, and I am now glad that I did not!!

Ill keep everyone updated on her progress. She isn't totally out of the woods, now I am concerned about her lack of growth. She is TINY. Her sister is 4 days older than her and is now 4x her size. Ill post pics for comparison.
Bernadette is almost 3 weeks old. Her sister is 3 weeks old in these pics (taken today).
Anyone have any experience with goslings just not growing? She has barely grown since Ive had her for 2 weeks.

That's great news!! :ya

While I haven't experienced delayed growth like that in a gosling, I have seen it in ducklings: one duckling I hatched last year was notably smaller than its siblings for weeks, but eventually just caught up. Sending good wishes for Bernadette's continued recovery!

I have been following this thread. How wonderful! So grateful to God that little creature has you for her goose mom!
I’m currently nursing a baby chick that my mom had with a few others from TS. My mom was ready to put her down because something was wrong with one leg and she was less than half the size of her mates.
I took her in and have been giving her B vitamins and keeping a heat lamp available to her. I rubbed over-the-counter steroid cream on her leg every four hours for the first few days. She finally began using her leg and is learning to perch. She’s been super affectionate form the beginning. But she’s starting to feather out and her feathers are twisted. I had stopped the b vitamins but am returning to them now. Also, her cage mates are fully feathered, normal feathering, and have not needed a heat lamp for more than two weeks.
Any suggestions, fellow fowl lovers?

Could you post a picture of your bird, and one of the twisted feathers? Also what species/breed?
