Gosling unable to walk

I am sorry your gosling did not make it. Mine is still holding on, now six days after presenting with symptoms. It has a lot of strong but not growing well now. But thats definitely rom not being able to eat as much as a healthy gosling. I have been giving it sav-a-chick probitoics, sav-a-chick electrolyte (which has vit D and vit A), and B complex multivitamins which has 100 MG of niacin. This is all dissolved in water and providing it for all my goslings. They also have starter crumbles, plenty of fresh greens including grasses, white clover, plantain, sweet clover, catnip, chard. Now other gosling has any symptoms so far. I can say even though it is eating and drinking its only really enough to keep it alive, not grow. I have tried to see if it could swim, which it can with me assitsing, but if I let go it flips to the left. It almost seems as if its a contortion, with its neck alsways held a certain way and flipping to the left. I am not sure it is niacin, but really not sure what else it is or if it will ever recover. I wonder if it is just suffering and Im keeping it alive?

Well the gosling didn't make it. Last night I noticed that the soft skin under its lower bill had a small tear and was inflamed. THis morning it was still alive , but the skin tear was from the tip of the lower bill to where the fuzz starts and the leg joints started to look enflamed. The balance didn't improve either. No need to keep bothering with it and so I put it out of its misery.
Poor little thing. What do you think caused the tear? Did you manage to get any Brewers´ Yeast for them?

Difficult to say. When I didn´t know about niacin, I had one like this, it eventually drowned. That´s when I realised how malnourished it had become, and discovered about niacin deficiency. maybe it´s become too late for it, maybe not. I do feel it´s the niacin, but then again, there are a number of goslings that hatch that simply don´t thrive. When I gave my needy goslings niacin quickly, they picked up within the hour, then I kept it up for a good while, and no more problems. Have you tried giving a general all-vit and min tonic? Also, it could be that it has an infection, in which antibiotics would be useful, but sounds like your baby is very weak. :(

I think it got a little scratch from a twig on the ground or a plastic bowl while thrashing around so much. Maybe it even scratched itself. Combine that with laying on the ground... maybe even some poop that got on the scratch... bad immune system and a weak gosling... it really didn't have a chance. The others are growing like weeds and eating like pigs.

Yes, niacin deficiency causes growth probs, which, of course, means it affects their immunity. Glad the others are doing so well. Look forward to seeing some pics.

Here is a pick of how he is laying down on his side. The only other symptom i have noticed is a little diarrhea every so often, but also normal poops. I have him right by the food and water, basically babysitting him for days. I have been using the sav a chick electrolyte which has some minerals. Not much though. I tried finding a general supplement at two stores and they didn't have anything like that. I'm going to try another place tomorrow dice everything is closing now. I will keep helping him until he either dies or I think he is suffering. But hopefully maybe he just might make it?

Poor little babe. What are its knees like? There´s a disease that´s called Perosis, where the diet can be deficient in manganese. You could google it to see what you think. Can it support itself at all, or does it seems to have no power in its joints? Does it feel boney and light? Or just floppy? Well done on doing your best for it. Is it on its own? You could pop a little mirror in there for it to have some company.
