Goslings of 2015 Hatch-a-Long

Happy new year! Sorry I've been MIA lately. Between work, holidays and trying to get my home finished being built, things have been hectic. Spirit has also required a lot of extra care lately as he sprained his knee in early December and has been living inside our house again for the past month. He is finally recovering but suffered a lot of muscle atrophy and now requires daily physical therapy in the bathtub and lots of assistance getting back onto his feet again. Fortunately, the prognosis is positive and he should emerge in the spring better than ever. Thankfully, everyone else is doing really well. Oh... and for those who remember my micro duck, she eventually grew into a petite but full sized duck and is doing great too.

I know this is the 2015 hatchalong thread and is an exciting time for many peeps... but I'm SO not ready for breeding season.

I have been doing a lot of thinking since i lost my best geese. I think ive come up with a plan and a new color breeding project. Ive decided im going to get a new Brown Chinese gander this spring for my white chinese girls to supply the demand for pied goslings.

My new color project, might be Tufted Toulouse with Tufted romans. If i cant find adults i might order goslings, 1 tufted roman gander(for my tufted girls) and a trio of tufted toulouse goslings. I hope i can find adults around here, goslings will be a last resort i dont think i can handle 4 goslings and a baby right now lol
Sounds like a plan and I hope you can find adults I'm with you caring for more than one baby might be a bit much .

i have sad news the 2 older eggs died but in still got the week one in idk why they died but its prob for a good reason

I'm sorry nate, but spring gets closer all the time so maybe in spring Mrs will want to sit on some eggs of her own.

I still have an egg in the bator i have a feeling of why a God would allow it bc if those 2 would've hatched as well as this one i would be stuck with 2 Babies and i dont have room for 5 or 6 geese since im getting my sebs but I'll let yall know how this one goes

8 sounds good! Please tell me you still have that lavender tufted gander! :(

Serv i had a rough new years with my geese. I lost my trio of brown chinese to an over feeding of cornbread(not my doing) and my lavender got out of the yard and was hit by a car... 4 geese gone in one week
