Granny's gone and done it again

Hi all. Letting you know I'm still around. I have a med that seems to be helping now. I've had some, better days at least. My Occipital Neuralgia is bugging me. Lower head pain. Heat helps thank goodness. I got to read some, can't read it all. My eyes don't do too well with even the light of my phone. I see that Nancy is doing ok though, after her surgery. That's awesome! Cap, you need to take it easy. H2O..you too.. Granny..you too..Blue, you too. What's up with this getting der thing anyway? Interesting how we can just go with the flow..well most of the time. Our bodies let us know when we should slow down, so we should! Take it easy everyone. I'll try and get on again tonight. Miss ya!!
Miss you too Cyn.

haha what did they teach you?
I d K why Im sleeping so much. infection from my yeast maybe.
Basic idea was keep the pup on your left side, but hold the leash in your right hand. Left hand holds the treat, under your thumb, in the middle of your open hand, palm facing the pup's nose. The left hand with the treat guides the pup where to go. He can smell it and lick your hand, but can't get to it until you decide to reward him. Worked like a charm with Pi. Had him doing obstacle course work, sits and downs too. Sits were perfect. Downs about 50-50. We are not using the command words yet, just rewarding correct behavior.
We need to practice at home, but I took today off.
Pi needs to learn big things... like the food on the counter is OFF LIMITS. I have never had a dog that counter surfs, let alone a 4 month old that can easily reach on top of the counter. Long legs and neck, like a giraffe.

He needs one of these!

Oh boy, counter surfers are the worse I had one dog who never did it until my hubby left a rotisserie chicken on the counter where she could get it. That trained her real quick.

Set up a bait on your counter and tie a few empty soda cans to it with light string or dental floss. I call it the Trash Monster. Let there be about a foot and a half of slack between the TM and the bait. Go away, just hide and watch. When the dog grabs the bait the TM will attack him and scare the snot out of him. But YOU had nothing to do with it. Talk about getting caught in the act! It does not traumatize him! Just teaches him the counter is a good idea to leave alone.
