Rehomed 8 old hens & 1 rooster since Friday. And lost one adult hen to a egg breaking internally today. We were out of town yesterday & came home to her looking half dead. Hubby put her down this afternoon. I opened her up & found the burst egg & infection .

Thank everyone for the compliments on my grandkids. I love them to the moon & back. Hubby & I were able to stop at their house for a short visit on our way home from our trip. And I will have them this next weekend. Mom & dad will come get them Sunday, but we will carve pumpkins together before they leave

Thank honey, glad it wasn't one of my favorites, just hate seeing animals suffer. Hubby was very surprised that I cut her open, but I wanted to know if I had an illness running thru my flock or what.
