    I noticed I'm dragging an extra one around too. Your butt is nastier then mine by one turdlet.


    this is her first time also. She's 8 months old.

    X 2 - brooder babies are fun (and more personable) but there is nothing like watching a good broody teach her chicks how to be chickens.

    I agree 100%, with some broodys its still possible to tame down the chicks though. No luck with the last batch of silkies though.

    Follow mama's lead on that one - some broodies are less open to your "help" with the kids than others. Even without direct handling you can become a familiar and friendly fixture in their world.

    Lol. Thing is I think you get turletts from giving ovations too. I don't have that many ovations. Not many people like me.
