Good lord  I picked up another turdlett  dragging 7 around .   Didn't realize you got one at 750 ovations.   next one is at 1,000.
I noticed I'm dragging an extra one around too. Your butt is nastier then mine by one turdlet.

Red, its so much fun watching broody momma with chicks. My first ever broody was this summer & she would let the chicks jump up on her back & try walking around with them on there. My Silkie this fall never did that with her chicks. My other was a much better mother, but it was a first time for them both.
this is her first time also. She's 8 months old.

X 2 - brooder babies are fun (and more personable) but there is nothing like watching a good broody teach her chicks how to be chickens.

I agree 100%, with some broodys its still possible to tame down the chicks though. No luck with the last batch of silkies though.

If I handle the a lot will they still be tame?. Or should I not do that?

Follow mama's lead on that one - some broodies are less open to your "help" with the kids than others. Even without direct handling you can become a familiar and friendly fixture in their world.
