Baby chicks are like other babies, right? They sleep a lot? These new ones fall asleep at the feeders, or water. It's really cute. Of course the big ones just mow them over.

Oh, the sleepy baby stage...........the kids used to get a kick out of just sitting and watching the babies and seeing them fall asleep at the drop of a hat. They'd be standing there and BAM - sleeping.

7 babies dead today including one serama. pole barn wires caught on fire , blown all the lights on the brooders. rest of the chicks are very still. I have emergency heat in 3 brooders but not for 2 serama cages (adults) . if it drops below 40 they cant take it. one egg hatching in the house i think is dead. I have had enough.

2nd time for that cage. that happened not too long ago. those EEs. remember? that time just the light bulb blew, this time was way worse. Surprised i still have a barn.
