I'm hoping to get 18 to replace these that are clear. Yes going to go pick them up so that's a plus. If these 6 that are developing make it to lockdown they are going in the nightmare of a Chinese incubator to hatch so I don't have messy hatch gunk in there with the tolbunts.

Just waiting to hear back on when I can collect them :pop

Catch you later granny and thanks once again, your a star! :hugs

Wooooooooohoooooooooooo!!!!!!

Granny, I have always fed my cornish x chicks layer pellets, on the assumption that the extra calcium will help their legs. I also feel like the 16% protein doesn't rush their growth as much.

I figure the extra calcium will not give them gout, or kill their other organs in 6 - 8 weeks. I have never lost a meatie to leg problems.

Gout is not a calcium problem! It is an joint accumulation of uric acid- that metabolized from nucleotides that are the monomers of DNA and RNA, that are very common in red meat, and protein reach food.

I think that diets high in calcium can cause gout in poultry.

But, NOT in a 6 - 8 week old chick!

I agree.

But, layer feed will NOT have time to cause harm to a 6 - 8 week old chick.

Agree, never said it will, I referd onlly to the caouses of gout .

Have we heard anything from our friends that were in the path of storms last night? I am watching horrible weather damage stories on the news.

And I just talked to Mike...... He went to the doctor today to have his blood work done for his Warfarin dose. The Dr told him he was dazed, confused and his reflexes were not good. So, he sent him to the ER. He is pretty sure they are going to admit him.

Helloooooo! I don't have to pick up #2 today. He's got a ride with someone else!

Busy day, and I am so tired. We got a bill from CA tax board that we owe $400 from 2012! Spent an hour at H&R Block just to figure out what the problem was. This was their best guy, too. Former IRS guy, and even he couldn't figure it out for awhile. The tax code is criminal!

If an average person can't understand what they are supposed to be doing, then it should be illegal. We should not have to pay someone to tell us how to pay our taxes!!!

Rant over. Going to play with my chickies now!
