LOL - very much like the talk I had to have with DD when she informed me that our ducks were "so smart, because Bonnie-Bob was using Judy duck as a step stool to try to get over the fence"..........This morning I was meeting the new group of nomads over at the coop. DH let the chickens out to show them, and a roo jumped on a hen.
"Your chickens are not nice," the assistant (who is our neighbor and chicken sitter) says to me. "That one is standing on top of the other one."![]()
"That's what boy chickens do to girl chickens!" Was my answer.
"But why?" She asked, then her eyes got big and round.
"Y'all need to have a different talk later," DH said. All the old people were snickering and elbowing each other.![]()

I can second this - I have a Galaxy S4 and like it a lot - I'm not a "phone person" so I don't get all that excited about them, but DH is and he picked this one for me -- he's also had a couple of Notes and really liked them, may even be using one now, IDK......I don't "get" the attraction to having a giant phone, lol.I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 that I like a lot, through AT&T. The Galaxy 5 is better, and I will probably get one, but they are getting harder to find. Both my boys have those. The 7 has just come out. You should go look at them. They have something called a Galaxy Note that is quite large. If I didn't use my laptop for byc, I would get the Note!
Morning.... The time change got us... Brandon is missing school cuz we didn't wake up on time...
I am nervous about this bunch. Fingers crossed for sure!
Granny, I have always fed my cornish x chicks layer pellets, on the assumption that the extra calcium will help their legs. I also feel like the 16% protein doesn't rush their growth as much.
I figure the extra calcium will not give them gout, or kill their other organs in 6 - 8 weeks. I have never lost a meatie to leg problems.
LOL - yep, you spend all that time waiting for and trying to teach them to walk and talk, and the rest of their lives wishing they'd sit down and hush up, lol. DD was an early baby on all that -- then DS came along and had a bunch of developmental delays, he started walking at about 22 months......and given what a big boy he was this mama was MORE than ready for him to be mobile on his own.Yeah she's 28months I couldn't wait for her to walk and talk now I can't hardly wait til bedtime lol she runs this 52yo ragged
Have we heard anything from our friends that were in the path of storms last night? I am watching horrible weather damage stories on the news.
And I just talked to Mike...... He went to the doctor today to have his blood work done for his Warfarin dose. The Dr told him he was dazed, confused and his reflexes were not good. So, he sent him to the ER. He is pretty sure they are going to admit him.
Sorry I did pm Sumi and told her I would do the interview. I have a few chicken stories yet you all haven't heard LOL
TTFN
Thank you enola for the help and info.Thinking about serving the meat chickens a blend of lemon butter , garlic, salt and pepper. marinate them from the inside out. Might slip it a beer or 2 along the way.![]()
WTH?????Helloooooo! I don't have to pick up #2 today. He's got a ride with someone else!![]()
Busy day, and I am so tired. We got a bill from CA tax board that we owe $400 from 2012! Spent an hour at H&R Block just to figure out what the problem was. This was their best guy, too. Former IRS guy, and even he couldn't figure it out for awhile. The tax code is criminal! If an average person can't understand what they are supposed to be doing, then it should be illegal. We should not have to pay someone to tell us how to pay our taxes!!!![]()
Rant over. Going to play with my chickies now!
Oh, so sorry to hear that Mike isn't doing great.Have we heard anything from our friends that were in the path of storms last night? I am watching horrible weather damage stories on the news.

hi all, Home from shopping. ended up buying 2 bags of peat and only one of shavings. I cant move the peat by myself . it is very heavy and I am tired . I think it will expand a lot one it is free of its confines. I would love a nap right now but if I do I will miss the opportunity to spread it today .

DOH! We are lucky here - DS is on Spring Break this week (and next) so we have adjustment time - and with me not working right now we can be lazy about it.

Sound thinking, imo.

As have you ! Keep wondering just how much manure you can spread before you run out ?granny you have been "spreading it" since the day I met you![]()
I guess my little is house broke now. except for the fact he is running around with no britches on and cant keep his hand off of it. scratching his but then hold his hand out for a cookie. Didnt he just turn 2 ?
LOL - a bit prudish, is she?Was your DD 33 at the time?
Just now in the yard she hollered and made them stop. I threw out my arms in blessing and said "Mount away, boys!" Then when she got flustered I stuck my finger in her face and said "I. WANT. CHICKS."
The boys are starting to fight each other over the hens. When one roo mounts, the other chases him off. There's 8 hens for each roo, just not enough I guess.
