well, I hope its good. I dont see why it wouldnt be. your doing good at helping . shame you have to. I wonder whats up with them ? I know Enola wont help because they are not strong chicks but they can recover. I do it just because I like to.

I don't think a tiny hole to breathe would hurt.. But I'm not experienced.

These got cool when the broody jumped her nest. I haven't actually helped.

when a baby chick runs out of air it has a reflex muscle contraction in its neck. that causes it to external pip. Some say if they are getting air from a different source they wont do that and may not hatch. I have not found this to be true .
 
I used to can my old laying hens. Did you know that you can get an entire laying hen in a wide mouth quart jar? Yep! I have done it.



Really ? I would never thought that.  do you pack it in chicken broth ?  probably didnt hold much . LOL


I just used water and maybe 1/2 tsp salt. Cooked them in a Mirro- Matic pressure canner.

I canned venison and beef too. I was never afraid to eat the meat.
