Find myself with a "bird in the hand/two in the bush" quandary today --- this job hunt seems to be feast or famine. I was asked to submit to a background check for the BMV (meaning I am their choice for the job offer dependent on the results), but the day after that I also got a call to interview for a position at the DWD (unemployment office) *and* I finally got a call back on an position I applied for before both of those which is an office role at the DFR (welfare office).
The problem is, BMV and DWD are both PT -- the DFR is the only FT position of the three, and the hourly pay there is higher. From an hours/pay standpoint, the DFR job would be the best option -- *but* the interview for that isn't until the end of the month, *if* things go well with the BMV background check or the DWD interview I would potentially have to turn down those offers in order to be available to accept an offer from the DFR *if* that interview turned into an offer (I am fairly confident it will).......that leaves me potentially ending up with NO job if I pass the first two to be available for the third.......or I accept one of the other two and then can't even move forward on the other one (I wouldn't feel right taking the job only to go interview for a different one a week later).
I know this may seem like a really messed up thing to be venting about, because I now people want/need jobs and would be grateful to have such a "problem" ---- but it is seriously stressing me out trying to figure out what the "right" thing to do here is.........the BMV called today and left a VM asking me to call back, which likely means that we are moving to step 3 which is the fingerprinting.......and I am putting off calling her back because I feel I owe it to myself and to them to have some idea what I'm going to do before we invest any more into this process for me if I'm going to end up not accepting the offer...........
Any wisdom?
