i took a nap, god forbid. the dogs woke me up and i went out , there is a beautiful yellow lab at the gate. been wanting a outside dog. so i go check it out . its waging its tail , acting very humble. what a sweet dog i think. then i start seeing the feathers all over the yard. polish hen is tore up pretty good on the tail end and back . lot of little puncture wounds and one about the size of a half dollar. a little shock but when i cleaned it i noticed it can walk. the rooster must of tried because he seems a little shocky too but no wounds. all of my guineas i discovered today are awesome fliers.

thank you. i am. its a good dog now.
oh, i guess i should explain that. lol the dogcatcher came and got it. he will hold it for 5 days and then depending on the dog if it goes to the pound or fertilizer. it shouldnt have a hard time finding a home because it was quite friendly, just doing what dogs sometimes do.

Wow, Granny, I am so sorry!!

i worked till dusk and i am gonna be soooo sore tomorrow. i did 2x4s every 4ft. ,braces on everything i could find to brace, chicken wire stretched down 20ft. it was 4ft. wide and it took 3 pcs. u nails to tuck everything in and i have 10x20ft. of extra run.still have to finish skirt and make a chicken door from the other run but thats sitting down stuff. hahah

please excuse my rambling , i chewed my tongue up last night and can only talk to myself as no one here at home can understand me. best day they had in a long time. stubbed my toe and all i could do is holler SIT. they are laughing at me. took my son to the grocery store and as soon as we got there he says "mom, i dont feel good" he has a lot of health problems , so i rush by myself with all my muscles screaming from working on the chicken coop, throwing 10lb. potatoes in the buggy like it was cotton candy.after i got home his temp. was 103.4 . should of let him carry the eggs.so no work on the coop today. the hen that was tore up by the dog is still alive but i am thinking, wondering if i should put her down. i wish i knew if she was in pain or not. i havent seen her lay down. she stands in one spot mostly. she is eating and drinking.i havent done any more to her wound yet because i dont know what if anything i should do and if i put her down then why make her hurt by scrubbing it? the thing is, she is old. she stopped laying about 1 1/2 yrs. ago . i can see the back of her skin is black, severe bruising im guessing.i dont mind feeding her and her mate seems really lost but i just wonder whats in the best interest of the hen? i wish i could take pictures. then i could get some help but its just not to be. ok, i will go find someone else to bug for a min. lol

well, the hen is healing nicely, the extra run is finished and my poor ol tongue is healing !! what more could a girl ask for? well, except for someone to come clean the coop and nest/roost boxes out. i even made a sliding pop door on a pulley !! not that i needed it, but i did it anyway. i have had a pulley i have kept w/ me for over 30 yrs. i have no idea why, i just liked it. i said one day i will find a use for this and i finally have. pretty sure thats the only reason i made the door lol
