Granny, you are always working hard and getting things done! I don't know how you juggle all the things you do. I don't have half the things going that you do and I rarely get anything done around here!

Hope things are going well at your place today and your mom is hanging in there.

my brooders runneth over. with chicks and what they leave behind. if i cant get busy, the chicks are gonna be pushed out. lol a lot of my family has gone home, 2 left. i enjoyed them but very tired. now the real work begins. if i could just get rid of this poopy butt. the poor chicks are getting bottom heavy. the moms didnt work. i am running between the barn cleaning butts and the house cleaning butts. my husband suggested i rid myself of the chickens because of the extra work and i told him the only peckers leaving here was ..... oh, never mind. life is good.

Sorry about your rooster Granny. SafeGuard liquid goat wormer is great, and has a dosage of 1/4 to 1/2 ml depending on bantam or regular chicken, then repeat in 10 days. Toss all eggs for a total of 24 days. For certain worms such as gapeworm or cecal worms that cause blackhead, higher doses are given for several days in a row. So it's hard to overdose.
Can you give this to a chicken who is setting on eggs? Silkie is so thin. She will eat and drink when I take her off the nest but she won't get off the nest unless I do. Eggs should hatch in 7-8 days. Thanks....from Mommaw

give her hard boiled or scrambled eggs every day to keep her going. I would think if she has worms, it'd be better to worm her with the risk of her abandoning brooding than to lose her and the chicks too because she withered away.
