give her hard boiled or scrambled eggs every day to keep her going. I would think if she has worms, it'd be better to worm her with the risk of her abandoning brooding than to lose her and the chicks too because she withered away.
So go ahead and worm her now? I'll go to TS today and get the Safeguard. Thanks for the help....

has she been getting off the nest to eat? the will lose some weight when broody. depends on how long they have been like that and how often they are getting off to eat. silkies are very good brooders and some wont leave to eat. i dont think worming them will matter as far as the eggs are concerned.

today has been an ok day. i got (chased) through the house by mom with her walker.

she was laughing pretty good. then she had forgot all that has happened and asked me what was happening to her. i told her.that was pretty hard to explain, again. guess the chicks poopy butts may be from too much heat. will have to check that out later. thanks two crows for the info.

She only gets off when I make her get off to eat and drink and I didn't do that every day ... I gave her scrambled eggs and she won't eat them. I will have to take her off the nest every day it looks like. She is so light and weighs nothing....She is setting on 7 eggs and most look viable. I will make sure she eats. This is my first silkie...thank you so much for helping me understand better....:)

My bantams know its Easter i have been getting about 10 eggs a day from the bantams, about normal i guess, for winter that is ! i have forgotten its spring. i went to move a dog house because it looked like an egg just at the door. oh boy, it was at the door because the house was full ! 47 eggs in there.
