hi all, one guinea today. it was purdy too. almost wish i hadnt promised them.lol it had white tips and silver body. that man is working for his guineas having to come every day with his little bag to see if any has hatched. the look is priceless when he sees one. the mama hatched one too but it was dead. that makes 2 dead for her. i know she is killing them. took the rest of the eggs and only 3 looked viable.there was one i wasnt sure about, i seen black and what i thought to be movement. he said i believe thats a bad one. dont think i would put it in there. he went to toss all the bad ones and i snatched that one back out of the basket . he was smiling as he was walking away. i had a screw in my hand. no sooner then the first little scratch on the egg then POP! and OMG people, there was a skunk in the air ! i am sure i heard him giggling as he walked away. i got 3 walls of the bedroom painted today. i know that dont sound like much but my back and feet says it is. it is not the wow i was looking for and it needs a second coat. thinking about some crushed pink granite in the second coat. the color is a seafoam green. any ideas for the wow factor? white ceiling , darker green carpet. dark wood bedroom furniture.

2 more guineas today . one early and one just now. this is taking forever. oh well, at least we are getting to know our neighbors. lol

i am beginning to think my guineas are useless. thats right, USELESS !! the older i get the more i hate bugs, and mice. i hate mice. so the barn cats are useless too. went out twice now to ya, the guinea coop and seen what i believe to be a cockroach the size of texas crawling on the coop door. arent they supposed to eat them things? i didnt think we even have roaches here. never seen one.so after i spilled their food all over the place (i think they are being overfeed) i marched my self right on in the house and told someone to go kill it. no takers.what a bunch of chickens in there.i went back out and lo and behold, there is a guinea playing with a mouse, so i thought what the heck, i grabbed the cat and threw it at the bug and decided to call it a day. i have forgotten to lock the guinea coop up tonight but its dark out there and i am not going !

Wow I'm surprised the chickens didn't eat that bug, hope nothing got in the coop! I keep a flash light handy. I saw a huge coon a couple days ago about a hundred yards from my coop standing on its hind legs looking at my chickens then the next day I saw a fox, both in the middle of the day! The danger is bad right now with everything having babies. They are coming out in the middle of the day.

i think the neighbors bugs taste better then home. they have been going out to eat all yr. it was on the door. i have never seen them here before and was hoping someone would tell me thats not what it was. lol what would they be after, the food? i will dust the coop i guess. gives me the shivers. it was at least an inch long.

Granny here's another case thought they had MG or Coryza and didn't. Read what Kathy says in post 27. You just don't know by telling someone the symptoms. Just saying I wouldn't chalk it up to MG for sure. There's still hope. Doesn't this person in the thread symptoms sound like yours? Red eyes and all.

Crazy, isn't it? Our flock is convinced that the bugs are better six inches across the pasture fence line....I guess the neighbor feeds their bugs better.
