i am going to see if i cant just go all out. buy a new bator thermometer . if i am going to do some staggered hatches i need another one. ANY, suggestions on the thermometer ? not a lot to choose from here. I wanted the one that looks like a meet probe but cant find it. I am looking for a pic of an embryo on day 13 and cant find one. i recandled all of them and want to compare .

I cant order on line either. i have wore all my friends out doing that for me. the last time someone did it they took her money 2 times and she had to wait 3 days to get it back.

i did last time but i will again. what i found was at lowes. they had some really expensive "weather stations" but i cant spend 100 dollars on one. LOL

you either have that cook gene or you dont. some people get one from a parent and can half ... cook but i didnt .

Fortunately - or unfortunately - I got the "cooking" gene from BOTH parents. My Dad made the most awesome jams, jellies and preserves. He had a cast iron wood stove (ancient) that he kept on a covered patio for cooking fish. My Mother was an all around great cook. I love to cook but also like to eat what I've cooked.

The pictures of the Seramas are just beautiful. I've seen pics of them before but don't think I've ever seen them in person. Granny, so sorry about your lost egg. I haven't hatched eggs since I was a kid but think it would be very rewarding. I've talked about it to my DH but living in the city I'm so limited as to the number of hens I can have. Of course that magic number hasn't quite kept me in check so far. LOL Unfortunately I have a neighbor that would call and report me in a heartbeat if I were to get a bad case of chicken math.

I can vouch for that, although with me it's not that the food tastes bad, it's getting the timing right. I didn't get the gene, but I can hold my own as long as I have thought it through first.

ya, see. its in the genes. lol maybe unfortunate for you but i bet there is a lot of lucky people around. lol Its not hard to learn chicken math at all. even i could do it first time around. LOL I wasnt crying over the egg. it does make me sad. It was something enola told me. today is a new day and i am going to have a good one ! I know all of you will too ! I was so tired last night, in bad pain with my foot and bones. back mostly . i fought taking a pill all day then come bed time i just couldnt take it any more so i took one and now i have been up most the night. side effects of them things.
