Wow you have done your best Granny hope the little guy makes it. I wonder if some sugar water would help give it a boost or chick electrolytes.

If you do give it something be very careful not to drown it. I just put a drop on the side of the beak and let it swallow rather then forcing down.

You were right Kathy, I got everyones hopes up including my own. I went to pick up its buddy in town, good thing i decided to get 2 and i also picked up the 19 chicks from that woman who said her cat was eating them. I got home it was in the same place i had left it. I had also picked up some sav-a-chick . I took care of the 2 (blue) silkies i had got then went out to tend to the 19. as i was unloading them one jumped from my hand. I spent 2 hrs. looking for it and so did my 2 kittens. there were a couple spottings but i realized if the cats cant catch it i am not going to. I had it cornered at one point and i got down on my knees to scoop it up and i have a gravel floor . it was killing my knees so i sat down in it. little more cushion there. well, I found where the cats have been using the litter box. right under my butt. the chick slipped away by going under the wood of the pole barn and to the great out doors. one of the cats chased it back into the pole barn while i am stuck on the floor sitting in .... I couldnt get up. I waited for a while hoping my husband would come check on me but that was not to be so I ended up flipping a file cabinet over to help me pull and i pulled myself up with my bad foot. it is on fire now. I didnt catch the baby . I came in the house and in the time i was in the barn the little serama had died. So, I have 18 mixed silkie chicks i didnt need, 2 blue silkies in the house instead of serama , a nasty butt and a sore foot and knees . Hopes ?? I dont even know what that means .

wasnt she talking about blocks of hard foam ? that is what i thought any way. lol this is what i seen as well but with a paper carton.  

The stuff I'm using is out of old memory foam pillow. Lol I cut it up. Its not the memory foam its the filler that let's the pillow breath

my daughter is out of surgery but i dont know how she is yet and my face book friend is dying i think, the daughter wont talk now. gotta love these kinda days

I guess all went as it was supposed to with my daughter. expected around 8 days in the hospital. she said she is in a lot of pain but i doubt she will even remember talking to me. her words were very thick and had to understand . I am so glad this will be over for her soon. the 2 silkies in the house are very quiet. i keep forgetting they are here. they are sleeping a lot. the babys outside are well, not sure what they are. the woman told it right when she said they are all colors of the rainbow but all but one have 5 toes. no fluffy or black skin. the one without the 5th toe almost looks guinea with those orange feet and beak. I had to take medicine today after that show in the barn. it hasnt helped any. KATHY, thank you for all your help. I gave it my best shot but i guess that wasnt enough. hopefully the next egg that i put in on the 28th will bring better news. it was not shipped and is in the new incubator and that temp is showing 100.2 I guess i will just keep the older one plugged in and wait til the 18th day before i put it over there for lock down. I dont know if i should up the temp for that or not. I have an egg every other day from my seramas in the new bator. I havent candled them except for the one that went in on the 28th.

Take it easy on that foot Granny it's never going to heal. Saying a prayer for your daughter and you. Sorry about the little peep hope the other eggs do better. Hope the one that got away is there on the morning.
