grannys gone and done it

So sorry about your friend, granny. People become part of our lives, even when we never see them face to face, and the void left when they are gone can be painful. If you're in contact on a daily basis, you are thinking about that person often (which is more than I can say for a lot of my relatives!). It gets to be a daily habit and becomes much more noticeable when they're gone, and you have to do without. I think sometimes it makes it harder when you haven't met because there's not much chance of closure, all the loose ends dangling and unanswered questions you wish you had a chance to ask. Maybe it will be good for you too, to be in contact with her daughter, to help you sort things out as well.

Binks makes Henry seem like a sissy! Going to have to start calling him Hank to make him more manly.

So far, we're keeping him an indoor cat. Far too many cat-hating dogs around, and cat-eating bobcats, and neighborhood bully cats. I don't need the trouble. Not to mention the ticks! Terrible ticks the last cat brought inside all the time, and they all seemed to have a magnetic attraction to my youngest son, poor guy, who's had ticks bite where no one ever should! Lyme's disease is around here too, so don't need that worry. I hate having a litter box in the house, so we (Royal We, of course!) fixed that by building a little cat room on the side of the house and putting a cat door through the wall, so technically, no litter box inside!

My other kitty, Ming, is half Henry's size. Only about 5½ lbs and she has no fangs! Came that way from the rescue group.

Henry is a 12 lb behemoth by comparison. He barely fits in the same space.

He's not the brightest bulb either.

I do think he is part Maine Coon. Kind of aloof and has so much fur on his feet that he can't get traction on the hard floors and goes careening out of control. He has grown much furrier in the 2 months we've had him, so I think he was younger than the 2 yrs estimated by the shelter. Just a goofy adolescent!

Henry's favorite game is to tackle Ming and pin her down. She doesn't have much of a chance once he gets hold of her, especially since she's missing those fangs, and her warning nips are too gummy. At Halloween I tried to find her some fake kitty vampire teeth, but no luck. They were all too big.

Fortunately Ming is fearless, much smarter, and much much faster than the big guy.
And guess who's in charge!

wishing, I dont like that the white hen drew blood on the first day. what are they? I would invite her to dinner. your cats are gorgeous (and it took a lot for me ti figure out how to spell that ) .. Binks (hocus pocus) is 23lbs. of pure muscle. the one cat i have left in the house is 31lbs. of blubber. he takes a nap on his back and looks like road kill. I also have 2 male kittens outside and one of them looks like your Ming. they were born just before mom passed. she held them for a min. so they were born in april. look to be half grown. I rehomed 3 of them and they came from a cat that I thought was kitten but guess not. no more females here. Binks is neutered as is all the house animals. not the 2 kittens yet. matter of fact i didnt even name them. after 6 months i still think they are going to be rehomed. LOL

They were sold to me as Rhode Island whites, but I think they're actually amber whites. They drew blood on my orpington pullets within the first five minutes I tried them together. They're just really mean to the pullets, but sweet as pie to me. I want to get rid of all four of them, which would mean getting rid of all my current layers, but there hasn't been an auction lately. I would list them for sale but don't know if we can get the right price. We want $20 a hen, and I've seen some listed for that but I don't know if they sell. But I know they go that high at auction.
