well, I got done for the most part. didnt clean the brooders. I knew i wouldnt. by the time i got the babys over to their new digs I just wanted to sit and watch them. So cute ! to see them spread their wings and try to fly for the first time and running , playing, mock battles. I just got lost in it all. I got a nice hot cup of coffee and lost track of time. I left one in the brooder with every intention of bringing it in the house and making a lap chicken out of it. I really wanted to. soft white fuzzy butt. so gentle too but when i was watching the others i just couldnt bring myself to do that. It would of missed out on so much. when i was out there there was one that all the rest of them were picking on. I couldnt figure out why. I picked it up and it scrambled under my coat and started trilling. I love that sound.

When I finally set it back down it was left alone ? I hope they all gather around the heat tonight. it is a red light. I attached it in 3 different ways. I cant find the rubber plug for my heated water and it is leaking so i found my cookie tin heater for the water but I am going to do something different. It is pretty tall for some of them. I did put 2x4s in front of it for them to stand on but you guys know me. if its not the correct way i am not satisfied. Speaking of correct. my chicken and dumplins , why do some come out fluffy and some like dough balls? the little ones were doughy. the pieces that broke off the bigger ones. I dont like dumplins and dont make it often but every one else does. thinking i might of put too many in the pot ? Anyway, thats been my day. there was joy at the end of a hard 2 days. 3 if you count the brooders . LOL will be paying for it i am sure. My wrists already hurt from the hammer and my foot and back from standing too long. Oh well, what would i do if i couldnt grip right?? Hope all had a good day as well.
