Mike has a tattoo. It is a jail house tattoo of a humanized chicken, it looks kind of like Fog Horn Leghorn on RIR colors. I tried to take a picture of it, but it has faded so much that it won't show up in a photo.

Last chick just hatched. Day 24, starting into the beginning of Day 25. Pure speckled sussex. It's acting pretty sluggish, maybe just exhausted? The chick with it is hilarious. Not even dry, but if I peek in and it sees my face it runs over, stands up tall on its toes, stretches its neck and flaps its wings, and cheeps extremely loudly. It takes everything within me not to cuddle it, poor thing. It's on its feet way better than the first chicks at that age. I'm hoping the SS makes it, since it's the only one. I'm worn out. Going to eggtopsy the others later. I'll set everything in the bator tomorrow. Was hoping for tonight, but chicks won't be dry.

My tattoo is on my back, between my shoulders. Can't see it with most t-shirts, and that's on purpose. Every now and then it peeks out in opportune times, like at church.

It's a bird in flight, but like ink splatters. About as big as a grapefruit. It's a fun little secret.

I have a friend at church who was in the Navy before he was born again. They're up his arms. Its just in the past. I'm sure he's not the only one.

humidity is at 30 right now because i just put some water in but come am it will be back to 16% its going to be a bad hatch unless i give up and do a dry hatch . seramas , I have heard should hang around 50 %

my chicken feed in the coop is coated with bees . they are everywhere !!! looks like they are eating the food ?

Sounds like the bees are swarming. There is probably a queen in the mob. Looking for a new home. If you have local bee keepers, sometimes they will come and get them.

I think there is a bee keeper about a mile from here. I will see if i can find him/them. they act like they are eating the food.

i guess there is a bee expert on here and he says they dont swarm below 45 degrees . I dont think he believes me.

been 3 days now. I will find out local i guess. He didnt say he didnt believe me but its the impression i get.

Think bees are pretty much limited to pollen and nectar for food. Could they be something else? Swarming bees will be in a big clump.

Just read that they usually swarm Sept-Dec, so maybe something else is going on. I'd contact the beekeeper. We had a small swarm some years back and a guy came and got them. They were very docile, but I didn't want them on the patio with the kids and dogs around.
