I had strep before. The first time I got it was in 1st grade. I was gone from school for almost 4 days. My teacher made a big deal about it when I told her. It really in truly felt like a cold to me!

I have a very good friend in England and we have to explain words to each other constantly, even after four years of close friendship. "Well chuffed" was the most recent phrase for me. :lau

Here granny, have some flowers!

You have no idea how many mosquitoes I had to brave to cut those. :love

I've had strep before, nasty stuff. And ear infections just last winter. So I understand totally. You know I'm always just a pm away! I wish I could mail you a casserole. :hugs

Camping, One day I looked outside and found a huge @$$ mosquitoe on my window. I thaught it was just a twig, Boy was I wrong! I also found a moth as big as my hand. I brought it to a wildlife center and they were surprised. I guss my area can surport a lot of wildlife if they can get that big.

The moth looked like this:

Weather story from the good ol' days. . . Or 50 years ago, which ever you like the best.

My home place, where I grew up, we had a pasture that had a hill on each side of it. The property behind our propety was a long low fan shaped grade. So, in the summer if we had a thunder storm that dropped a LOT of rain in thie area, all of the rain funneled right into the 'valley' that my Mom owned. Mom would let us out of the house as soon as the thunder and lightning moved down the mountain.

We would run for that pasture, because the most wonderful warm water would be 2 - 6 inches deep, flowing toward Narrow Passage creek on it's way to the Shenandoah River.

We would run and splash to our heart's content. I especially loved doing water angels. It was so much more lovely than a bath in a bathtub. The warm water just felt plain magical running over and around my body.

Everytime there is a thunderstorm, I think about the wonderful times my brothersand sisters and I had in that pasture.

Oh wow!.....that is beautiful....thank you for sharing that with us

I've always wanted a canary! I've had lots of birds, but they just seems so old-fashioned and awesome.

I always wanted one too, we've had him for a year now and he is a lovely little lad....he's a red factor canary, a dark orange colour so of course I called him Julius!
