Hope so. Don't give up. My brother works for the county here, and sees lots of people, able bodied, doing their best to work the system. People in his office will bend over backwards to help someone truly in need. That's what it's all about.

When she puts in applications and gets turned down, keep your letters of denial. If you think the reason is wrong, contact your House Of Representatives..

My neighbor did that when she couldn't get Animal Control to force me to give up my horses.

You guys dont know how bad i would love to be able to get back out there. just to even stand long enough to cook a meal. It hurts . she got HIP what ever that is the boys got medicaid. She will have a fee for hers but not much. food stamps are coming on the 21st. as well. maybe now she can get her meds and get to work for the rent/gas, ect....

Were they ever able to get ahold of SIEOC for Energy Assistance (elec/gas bills)? Program only runs through May 15th, so if not I'd be calling them next. I know you had mentioned frustration regarding not getting a call back before, but wasn't sure if you were ever able to get things squared away.

she did talk to them and had an appointment but that was also the job interview . she called them and they said she needs a shut off notice before they will do anything. that shouldnt be far off.

Most agencies will only respond to the person(s) that will receive the assistance.

Things are looking better for her though. Keep her motivated to keep contacting agencies.

I am going to work to talk to all the girls that are using the system, they are proud to brag about how to get around........

What do y'all do when you get ugly messages on this site? I've gotten two this morning that offended me a little. Just really insulting and political. Report it, or just let it go?
