I was on facebook and the question was asked , what was everyone bringing to the swap ? well, I popped up and said , My payday and my sexy self ! hahaaaa so please, if you go , can i please call you Pam ? Still waiting on my ice cream. its still 2 hrs. away.

steroids are killing me. 2 cold showers and still dripping sweat. wish it would snow. speaking of cold showers, My rooster keeps falling out of the saddle and the hens are upset about it . they keep squatting and he just walks on by. he tried and oops, off the side he goes.

mama always did tell me , no such thing as fridged hens, just clumsy roosters.

My original broody is done being a mom. Those chicks are fending for themselves. I caught them inside the feeder today, so at least they're eating. They mostly stick around the coop.

I've got two more trying to go broody, an orpington and a white layer. The layer really surprised me, because she's a production hen. And the orpington is less than a year old. But so is the marans, who was the first.

I'm supposed to be giving my white hens and orpingtons to the guy who made the brooder. I've only got them for two more weeks, so I've been saving their eggs to hatch. I'm sure going to miss those orpingtons. They're not nice, especially semi-broody, but they're pretty to look at.

what kind of orphs ? i have a couple buffs they are pretty nice. they seem very curious . but i dont mess with them . never gone broody either.

They are a lavender/splash, at my best guess. Probably culls from someone's project pen. They came from the auction.

ohh, I have never been to an auction for animals before. probably a good thing. DD just got served with eviction papers. I wish i could get some peace. She will be glad to get out of there i think. a lot of work again. she hasnt got her first check from work yet. the 3rd. i think and thats for a few days. at least she has the household things now. really hope the children dont have to change schools. they really like it. they were home schooled for a long time. matter of fact the oldest is in 9th i think and this is his 2nd . year but only a couple months in NC and a month here. so many beautiful children and not a roof over their head. why? I grew up dirt poor, lived my life that way for the most part and seems like i am coming home. lol but my mother always had a roof over our head. Do i forget what it was like or am i the harder person now ? I dont know but for no fault of theirs that i am seeing i am mad at them. under the bridge. Hope every one has a beautiful night with tons of good sleep. many warm fuzzies

Not sure if I'm going or not - it seems like there are swaps EVERYWHERE that day - including one at a show somewhere around here DH tagged me into where "The Chicken Whisperer" is supposed to be speaking - not necessarily interested in seeing him, per say, but thinking a show might be a good place to start getting some networking for the breeds I want to add over the next year....in the end I'll probably end up not going anywhere, lol. It's funny, for all his "no more chicken" proclamations that DH likes to issue (I let him think he has a say, lol) HE is the one who keeps pointing out all the different swaps, etc that are coming up....talk about mixed messages.

So sorry to hear about the eviction situation - seems they have had a very rough go since the move.

@campingshaws - I absolutely adore Orpingtons, would be hard pressed to let them go too (though being not so nice would make it a little easier, lol). Hopefully those eggs yield a nice hatch for you!

Exactly. I've got 49 chickens, 34 of them are chicks, but no one is telling me not to put 60 eggs in the bator.

suzierd , i feel like its a promise now because they were held so ya, im getting them. LOL at least its a planned thing this time. hahaa Ming , I have never seen this, . so now I know who the big mouth is. I am sure everyone else already knew. where is this at? ol mare, I know of NO other swaps this weekend or any til mothers day in milton. ? is it close to me ? I am going to try very hard to stop worrying so much. it is effecting me too bad. thank you for the sorry. Now, as far as the ovations, I did talk to nifty again and he said , yes, it is a form letter he printed but ! that doesnt mean we werent all deserving of it and it took him a long time to go through all of us. 50 chicks aint nutting !!!
