Avian Flu confirmed in Lancashire. I should be OK, it was about and hours drive away from me and there is a six mile exclusion zone around it and the birds were culled. It wasn't a very pathogenic strain (H7N7) so there is little risk to consumers.

However the place I was going to buy the new hens from is in Preston and has decided to stop selling birds until further notice

Is any of the creek on your land? Hay field?
If I had that much land I'd have a bazillion chickens. My husband would probably leave me, but at least I'd have the chickens!!

Better be content with my fat acre (1.2 acre) and limited animals.

we had a terrible storm trees down strong winds..they said on the news 16 people are missing in eastern ky..
