Oh my! Convenient for the owners.....

But, there are so many chicken diseases in the USA, I could never do that.
There aren't that many in the UK *touch wood*, I think it's because of the APHA - restrictions are very quick and strict when it comes to quarantine. It's good in the long run but annoying in the short term.

Forgot to add : There is a lady about 10 minutes away from me who does this and came recommended. We have used her for the past two years when we went away. This time we went away for 10 days, had the chickens there a day, it was five pounds a day in total and she gave us two days free.

It wasn't like the luxuries those two get at home - the two of them live in a coup and run built for eight and gets lots of treats. But it's fox proof, we trust her and their are lots of other hens milling around - not in contact with them but free ranging or in another enclosure and she has a few sheep as well.

I like using it, the peace of mind and all the bonus' make it well worth it.

Min, I had to look up daisybelles. So pretty! They look just like the silver sussex. I'm so jealous of the lovely flock you'll have someday.

I know! I had never heard of them before either and had to google them when I was researching breeds, they are an English hybrid so should be a great brown egg layer as well. Unfortunately, the APHA keeps delaying my plans but hopefully I shall have atleast two new hens by the end of August. :)

unfortunately i have no way of knowing. My sister has deleted her facebook and took her phone off the air. She is speaking to no one . she didnt even tell me the baby came.

I have been gone for a few days, so sorry to hear about all of the sad happenings. Sending everyone hugs and well wishes.

It is so hot here today, 96*, winds at about 18 mph but it still feels like 112* according to the weather services!! When I go outside, it feels like a blast furnace. My horse refuses to come out of the barn for anything but water.....

I have been soaking a large area behind the farm dog's house. She has dug into the damp ground so today she has a bathtub sized pool of water. I don't know if it actually makes her cooler, but, it at least makes me think she feels better.

Enola, Im sure it helps. probably have to change the water when it gets too hot and with those temps. i am sure it gets pretty warm. The little serama rooster that liked to follow Flo into the pond paid for it yesterday. I hope he went with a smile on his face.
