Due to a malfunction of my card table leg that I use for a island in my pathetic kitchen at canning time. This is where my husbands favorite sweet chunk pickles ended up. Tomorrow was processing day, these take 14 days of different steps before they are ready to can. 13 cups of sticky sweetened vinegar solution and pickling spices ended up puddled all over my floor & up the front of my cupboards. Of course I was right in the middle of making the bread & butter pickles so I couldn't even try to clean it up until I was finished making them. And to top it off it looks like 4 of my jars didn't seal, that never happens

Mum,

I am not as old as I sound. I am 52 and I dont look old either (at least I dont think i do) I am disabled but they dont know that. Dont have much to do with neighbors. My family on the other hand do know. and are able . they are the ones needing a good thrashing I think.

I have a super easy recipe (grandmother's) for sweet pickles, honestly the best sweet pickles I have ever had. Hate the store bought type. NO cooking no canning but not real cheap. I also make what we call wedding ring pickles. those take about 7 days.

they are really good looking. The hatcherys sell pullets but they miss some too. Its kind of expected.
