are you still cold ? you get a lot of migraines dont you ?

Not cold anymore. And yes I do. They run in my family. My triggers include tight ponytails, recessed lighting, "warm" scents like vanilla, and squinting. So I have sunglasses stashed EVERYWHERE, and on everything else I just hope for the best.

I always had them but not that often. In high school I called it a singing headache because any noise made my ears ring or hum even if it was quiet. I always went straight for a nap and if left alone till I woke up on my own it was mostly gone then.

When I started the change I got hammered by them. Hospital visits screaming in pain. Tried prescription after prescription and nothing worked. Cigarette smoke, musk or strong perfume, lots of Axe stuff gets me and some aftershave or deodorants, bright lights.

Then at 47. I started getting blind spots. I'd see shooting stars or sparkles and then part of one eye was covered in dark fog sometimes with fireworks in it. Sometimes I got it on one side or the other and very infrequently both eyes at the same time. Sometimes it was my whole field of vision and mostly it was just part. I couldn't see to do anything so I sat

And waited it out. 5-20 minutes later it went away. No pain. Scared the crap out of me the first time. Dr said it was a migraine without a headache. Ok. I don't miss the pain.

Oh and don't forget the little men with jackhammers or the red-hot ice pick through 1 eye.

I'm almost 59 and don't get them very often.

Newfie, I have terrible troubles with the scents too. Instant headache. Sometimes the headache starts before I even notice the smell. Advil is my friend.

My sister has had those ocular migraines. First time it happened, just about scared her to death, she thought she was dying. She doesn't get any headache with it, just a very odd sensation.

Granny you said you wanted to garden. No time like the present. I am going to try straw bale gardening. No digging. Can you get bales of straw or hay? Old stuff is good. If you want to start now you can do it with 1 bale if that's all you can get. It is going to sit outside all winter anyway. Can you get cardboard boxes or lots of newspapers? You lay down a couple layers and wet them good. The bale of hay goes on top. When you get that far I will give next steps.

Y'all, I'm panicked. I'm supposed to leave today to sell some chickens, then spend a night with my parents at their new place, then go on to MS and spend several nights with a good friend I haven't seen in a few years. I was supposed to leave by 1 to get to the chicken meeting on time, but last night a realized that today we have our year end review AFTER the meeting. So there's no way I'm going to make it.

Plus I'm still not packed.

I have a migraine occassionally. Not nearly as often as I used to. My doctor put me on medication for blood pressure, they have nearly stopped. Perfume is a major cause. Lady Stetson can cause my head to hurt so badly that I can't see straight and my balance is affected. I got a bottle of it for Christmas one year and the entire day was ruined because I didn't realize the perfume caused my headache.
