Back from farm. Did a special for one of my renters 5 dozen starter eggs about the size of a wild plum for $3.00.. So the slw are starting to lay as well.. Did a bunch of tree trimming with chain saw and hand nippers then got the bobcat and dozed over some stumps. Home washed and sorted eggs. Fell asleep in my chair. I like starter eggs I can then tell people I ate 6 eggs for dinner.. they look at me in amazement and sometimes I actually tell them or show them the size eggs. Then they aren't so impressed. Out of milk and bread and sandwich meat and just about everything else going to have to hit the store sometime this week.

Back out to farm tomorrow with layer feed and then more tree work. I can't believe its the 23 of sept and we haven't had a frost yet.

You were a busy boy today twist, your butt has got to be dragging lol. We have been fortunate to not have a frost yet as well. I know its only a matter of time. Garden is done for except for a few tomato plants. We had an absolute beautiful day today. I would love to have weather like this year around. Not to hot, but warm enough to wear short comfortably.

isn't it kind of late in the year to be hatching chicks??  would imagine its hard to keep them warm.  At least it would be in North Dakota.
Chicks momma keeping them warm, I'm not doing any of that. The batch I just put in the incubator last night will go with the 5 chicks I have right now. They are replacement birds for my BIL.

Sorry guys but between me zoning out and Byc acting up more then normal.    I'm going to say good night and sweet dreams   also warm fuzzies..   TTFN
Sweet dreams to you too twist. Try not to work too hard tomorrow, rest well

Goodnight twist. I know y'all probably get a good nights sleep after all that work. I hope so anyway.
Lol I would share, just put 6 more Silk eggs in the incubator. Buff silk has layed 6 eggs out of 7 days. I hoping she will go broody so I can give them back to her. She layed 4 out of the 6 that my white silk is mothering. I had to have her 4 eggs in a incubator the last week. All four hatched but 1 died unexpectedly. So broody momma has her own 2 chicks & she adopted the buffs 3 chicks.
Well they are beautiful chicken lady. I'd love to buy some if we are close and you are selling.
