Good afternoon everyone, didn't get up early today after being kept up so late by granny & twist I just absolutely love your jokes. I never remember the whole joke to retell to others. That CRS is always working against me ha ha. Have been lazy this morning. Got up early to let the birds out then crawled on the couch and fell back asleep. Woke up a couple hours later & have been lazy since then. Called the hatchery to see how my order was coming since I hadn't heard anything. My order was being held up by the white leghorns. They suggested California Greys, so I went with 5 of those instead. Has anyone ever had those before & if so how have they layed for you? They said they would get back to me with a ship date. Better get the brooder coop cleaned this afternoon & set up for baby chicks again. The sooner the better for arrival time, I don't want to provide additional heat in the colder months. By Dec they will be good to go.

Evelyn the broody has a third chick! And Emily the injured followed me around the yard this morning, following a feed bucket. She's pretty fast even with her limp! If I can get the yard secure I wouldn't mind letting her back with the flock. I just don't want her ranging too far. Otherwise, she could just live in the tractor and live her life as a camp chicken.

See I told you I was already invisible granny. I managed to sneek in a bath (only because I am a clutz) without anyone noticing my absence. I gracefully tried balancing my phone on 1 leg so I could read posts as I ate my bowl of cereal. Just got into a post when dumb phone slides off my leg causing me to reach for it before it hit the floor. Needless to say that was a poor decision. My full bowl of cereal tipped pouring milk all over my lap, my chair & the floor

Well, and I remembered that DH will be gone Friday, so I'm planning to sneak out to the breeder for about 4 chicks.

Decided to get a bowl of potato & ham soup before I went out. If I do say so myself, this soup is divine. The best I ever made, they key to its success lays in the potato selection me thinks lol. First time I made it with Yukon Golds, leaving the skin on.
