-- I am so sorry.  As has been suggested, placing some marbles or stones in the water "tray" as well as raising the entire thing up to where the lip is at chest height (and continue to raise as they grow) can help with this (raising it has the added advantage of helping to keep the water from being filled with bedding).  They do have a tendency to fall asleep at the drop of a hat in the first week or two and often do so standing up and fall over, so that may be what happened here.
Another option would be to use a nipple water system in your brooder.

Yes, Red, as I say over and over, there is never a dull moment in my life. Just one crisis after another it seems.....

I am hoping to move to PA. My daughter and I are looking for a place for us to move to. I can't stand being away from my family for another year......

My pondering of the day - have the organs of young men suddenly started just randomly falling off? I ask because I notice so many of them walk around holding said organ at all times, so the only conclusion I could come up with to explain this habit is that for some reason the organs have become detachable in the last generation and they are afraid of losing them???????

wanted to ask about the cocci that was in the coop. It was long gone but i added the 2 new chickens in there . whats the chances of them getting it ? little white polish is doing really good but the EE is staying to herself on the roost. She had a watery eye and I gave her a shot of tylan, just one. noticed today the squirts . good weight ,bright eyes . no heavy breathing. Looks really good. think the squirt was from the shot and I am looking for trouble ?

I've never understood this neither. I used to do it as a young teen but it was in private with the door shut and locked.
