All the talk about milk reminded me of my childhood when we lived in New Jersey. We had a milkman who would deliver a half gallon of milk in a glass bottle and put it in the metal milkbox on the front porch. The cream would all be floating up at the top of the bottle. Mom saved it for a while and put it in a jar and I got to shake it and make some butter. Mmmmmm...

When we moved to California, there was no milkbox, so I was confused about what I was going to put on my cereal. Then mom took me through the drive through dairy. You pulled your car up to the window and told them what you wanted, and they would pass it right out to you. As long as it was a dairy product. You could get those little cups of ice milk to eat with a wooden spoon. Mmmmm... Chocolate pleeeeeese.
Oh my gosh. I'd forgotten. We had Farm Stores in Fla. Drive through for your milk, butter and ice cream. The little dealies with the wooden spoons.

Too bad some of them have never learned how to use hammer!

Quote: My mom used to say that there's nothing about today that's any better than when she was a girl. I always thought that was a sad idea, but I'm starting to feel the same way. We used to have wooden paddle spoons and waxed paper straws. Worked fine. Now everything is plastic, and it's never going away. Piling up in the landfills. Just because it's easy doesn't always mean it's best. That's what's so great about your swing set coop. Might be a little harder to put together, but I think it's great.

Well, I was driving at the time, so maybe I heard wrong. 6" According to this thread, they could have been talking about something else entirely!

It was true. I had 8 inches and I'm sure Austin got just as much!

I just lost everything I had laboriously typed out!

I remember now you were saying how frustrating your job was. When we bought this house, it felt like I was signing my life away, over and over and over and over again! Signature reduced to a little squiggle by the end. Think most of it was from the title company, but boy oh boy, what a complex ordeal. There's nothing simple any more.

All the regulations and guidelines make it a very frustrating ordeal on both our sides. Me in underwriting and the buyers trying to meet the guidelines. It is very complex now.
