Oh I almost forgot..... I did have a new little egg in the coop today. So one of my young ones started laying. :celebrate The only real bummer is that can't have the eggs anyhow cuz I'm worming the flock right now

My egg customers have been bumming. I hate having to do it, but I found pretty heavy load of worms on the poop board, so no choice.

How are the hens laying today

Hi, peanit! Not too bad today considering we are dealing with molting older girls and recovering from recent flock changes (subtraction and addition a week ago). Got an even dozen today. ....including three whites meaning from the day we picked them up or new leghorns have given us at least 3 for 4 birds every day...really loving these girls, the bated rocks we got at the same time aren't impressing me much yet on laying or personality but will do for now and get us through winter at the very least

PIA ? peeing in action ? she did something else that makes me think she should be trained to hunt or protect. not sure what that was about but i have seen it a few times. I give table scraps to the chickens and the cats try to get close enough for a sniff. No way they can get to it as its in the run. and she bolts over ready to kill almost . she trees the cats she only does this when the chickens are eating. hoping for some maybe ?
