Dunno Granny...tears up my stomach. Even a big chocolate muffin or that stuff doesn't set well anymore. Love greek salad w/ beets BTW. My sisters ex DH was from Greece. Mom and sister make a mean greek salad.Mutt, why does it make you sick ?
Six is a good number for a first time mom. I would give her six fresh eggs and get rid of the 17. And I would isolate her, so no one else lays in her nest. My broodies always puff up like tom turkeys and make a screeching dinosaur noise.
Well she was a little puffed up and screeched. Looked like she was mad at the world. She didn't try to peek me though. There's one hen in with her and the kids said that when that hen got close that she screeched at her. I'll separate her somehow tomorrow.Six is a good number for a first time mom. They bade this delish greek chicken soup with lemon and stuff too. It would warm your bones and cure anything that was ailing.

Sorry you can't eat chocolate mutt. That must be terrible. I'm borderline diabetic and shouldn't be eating it. But y'all know. I'm a man. I can handle anything.Dunno Granny...tears up my stomach. Thanks camping. You think I should try that tomorrow? This year I had four chickens go broody, and one of them went broody twice. They don't always bite, but they would always puff up and scream at me. Some will do that if you interrupt them laying. I like to pester broodies in the first 1-3 days to make sure they're serious. During that time I'll move the clutch to a dog kennel either in the coop or on the porch, somewhere that the rest of the flock can see them pretty often. If she sticks the nest after being moved, then I figure she's serious.
