If the gas is leaking it stinks to high heaven but when it's burning it's ok. I find though it makes the air dry and my eyes itch with it. We have central heating that's also gas, just turn it on and the house is warm. Boiler for that's in the kitchen though. Having them both serviced this work so they are working ok for the winter.

Are you in California? The coyotes are getting much bolder in some areas, but I haven't heard of them going after a meter reader. Hope he had his pepper spray! At some point, something will have to be done about it. I can understand not being able to walk in a park because of aggressive coyotes (we had that happen in the south Bay Area), but going after a person working where people live is too much. They're gonna grab a child some day...

Okay, never mind!

It's me confusing things I think wishing!! Reading back I'm thinking coyotes now? Either way I would be scared of both!!

I'm a wimp. I save my bravery for dreams!! I've killed foxes with my bare hands in those!!

I truly feel for the 3 rd unit. How long have you been doing this program??
4 years. It's really easy to hate these murderous heathens until you realize they never had a chance. They did what they had to and were forced to do. That said, there are a few that are just evil or Psychopaths. Some of them are monsters. I do this for free. There's a group, Kids In Conflict that chips in $$ for food and supplies. It's a great program. Here's a pic of 2 of the boys
.

Your doing a fab job there Mutt :thumbsup

There are a few programs a little like yours over here but with horses. It's amazing how an animal can bring the good out in people, even their true self can emerge.

That's fantastic. A well thought out program. I worked as a high school teacher in a residential drug treatment program for juvenile offenders, so I know something of what you are up against. Kids like that need a purpose. And candy. Candy helps too.

ZACTLY!!! CANDY! They will do anything for CANDY! Tell me more? How on earth do you get through to juvenile drug addicts?

No, I am in British Columbia, Canada. We do have very bold coyotes but it wasn't the coyote that cornered the meter reader, it was my Chihuahuas.....looking back on my post I could have worded it better. Coyotes generally hunt alone, while wolves hunt in packs, however, we had an incidence in eastern Canada where a young musician was killed by a pack of coyotes. She was just going for a jog in a Park.
Chihuahuas can be snippy, especially when there is a bunch of them.....but mine are so cute and tiny, I couldn't imagine anyone being afraid of them.....it's kinda like being afraid of a bunch of mosquitoes, lol.

Quote: Nice... a concrete sofa. What a sad start to such young lives. I tried not to know what the kids did where I worked. Talking to a program psychologist one day, I found that one of my calmer more likeable students was actually the most dangerous one there. Homicidal. Well, okay, just make sure you're never alone with him. Fun job!

Edited because your and you're are not the same thing, and here I am talking about being a teacher.
