She's had food and water the whole time. Yesterday was the only day that she didn't eat or drink. I took her off the nest and she looked at the food and water but just got back on the nest. Lord I hope she'll eat and drink today sometime. I don't know what else to do if she won't eat or drink when I take her off the nest. I'll be watching her all day but if she's not up by sunset, I'll try taking her off again I guess. Is that all I can do?

good morning all. Fixed/unplugged a sink and been to the store twice as I forgot my checkbook the first time.

Sitting here sort of pissey as Deer Season opens at 11 am and NO way I'm going to even be able to start thinking about that until maybe Monday. The plan is to go all Sweeny Todd on a bunch of roos and OLD hens sun & mon. Supposed to be about 60 on those 2 days. then maybe rain/snow. Maybe I get the rest of what I need this weekend and hunt on my way to and from the farm. Thinking as along as I am in a "mood" might as well complete the day and enter a bunch more data.

Maybe take her out of her crate close the door, have a dish of FF & water close. See if that entices her. My Cochin/EE cross was like that. She wouldn't budge by herself, I took her off the nest once a day so she would eat, drink & poo. She was spastic though, did everything in about 10 mins.

Thanks chicken lady. She does love ff. I'll have to start a batch of chick feed for her now. I know it want have time to ferment but maybe she'll still like it . Plus even if she don't drink shell at least get some water in her from the ff. Brb.

Are you sure she's not sneaking food and water when you not there red? My broody that I had in the summer did!! I was convinced she wasn't coming out to feed but she was, she was being sneaky!! I had to spy in the end!!

Birds love wet feed, if you have some scratch toss that in too. She needs the calories & protein now more than ever.
