Mutt, when DH and I got back from the market today, there was a package blocking the way. He wanted to know what I had now. I think he was worried it was chickens. Lol

After I opened it, he was happy. Thank you so much. The chickens and ducks will be grateful.

I will send the postage to you after pay day. Probably Saturday.
You are so welcomed Newfie! I sure hope they work for you! How 'bout you donate the postage or buy some needed supplies for a local animal shelter or rescue group that needs it?

What's you little heaters name? Slips my mind at the moment. Looks like he will be very turned on tonight then

Aww Mutt, that's so sweet of you :hugs

Has anyone noticed that it has been awhile since I've made the top ten for biggest mouth? Twist and granny are still making us proud along with chicken lady though.
I think that coop build and your broody had you pretty busy! Can't candle eggs 6 times a day, monitor every gram the hen eats and post on a cell phone...

Red, if you want really friendly chickens, fool with them. But mama hen might attack you if she thinks you are scaring her babies. The less of them there are, the easier to tame them.
Thanks newfie. It'd be hard not to play with them lol.
After the first couple of days momma will probably want to take them out in the run with her. They like to teach them to scratch & dust bathe asap. Plus momma is really needing to be able to do that after sitting on the eggs so long. Don't be surprised if momma looks rough for a while. They go thru a little molt after hatching. My little Silkie momma is still a little rough around the edges & hers turned 8 wks this past thursday. It will be weeks before she is laying again.

Thanks Lisa. She looks dirty now. Not from poop, her feathers just looks dirty. Guess they don't have much time to clean much though sitting on eggs. Hope she don't loose a bunch of feathers. Then I'll worry she can't keep the chicks warm enough.

Lol you may have a point there. I thought I was losing it lol.
You've did a great job of hands off recently Red & that's good. These next few days are critical. If you moved her food & water out a bit so she wouldn't poop in the nest. Don't get worried if she doesn't get up anymore. She is in the home stretch. She will be concentrating on getting the temp & humidity just perfect & you don't want to disturb her at this time. I am Sooo.... excited for you Red. Broody hatching is so much fun
