Don't scream. Go lock yourself in your room or the bathroom. Got headphones? Turn them up. Stay in there and enjoy being "alone." After you are all nice and peaceful and calm, go out and find your sweet little children.

Remind them why they are getting it and whop them on the backside a few times with a yardstick. It will break before injuring them. It will also make a satisfying smacking sound when coming in contact with posterior, getting the attention of other miscreants. Let it be an example to the rest of them.

Smart kids pick up real fast on the speak softly and carry a stick concept. Dumb ones will try you a few times. Don't give in. Soon all you do need do is mention stick or hit it on counters and furniture as a threat. We had a big wooden whooping spoon. I didn't need to hit them, I just waved it around.

Just remind yourself that this too shall pass. It is just a season in your life. Right now, you might be crying hysterically but trust me, you will eventually laugh about these kinds of things (it can however take years to appreciate the humor in it).

How perfect! So well put! Can you imagine? Linda has teenage boys! How perfect to go old school with the yardstick or wooden spoon! "Wanna act like a baby you'll get punished like one!

Hahaa! Lucky you! Most of mine are over 3. Couple of them haven't laid in over a year. Then there was the really hard molt this year. I have 3 that are just over a year, but two of them go broody at the slightest breeze... I did buy eggs, but only for making banana bread and cookies. I hoard the good ones, only share with family. Poor people at hub's work have to find another source. I don't have room for more and I don't have the stomach to cull the old biddies. Guess I'll just have a lot of pets!
