Quote: She's got everything running around with everything. Maybe I should go in the sexlink business?
check what they are going for. one of the best places to sell is the FB poultry local pages and of course CL. do your homework first.

I cant figure out who is laying green eggs. The one I thought it was is broody. I have some I bought last fall(for a dollar) that im not sure of what they are except big and looks like black copper marens .
no eggs from the yet?

Quote: We're working on a plan where we sell the camp layers in late summer (when camp is finished) and while the market is still decent, then I'll hatch our new layers in the fall and winter them. It's easier to feed freeloading chicks. I have bad luck with winter layers.

Of course, this is only my second winter with chickens...

But I'm an old soul. I think I'm a reincarnated farming ancestor.
you could be campin!

no beards in my coop. I guess i could put a couple in cages til they lay.
no beards here either, sold the flock of lavs I had

I hatched and sold all last year, Sally. Around here even mutt hens can go $20 in their first season. I had trouble with the sussex because no one knew what they were, which is why I'm in a breed pickle right now. It takes too long to gain footing. Of course my customers were usually repeat and very generous with praise. But I made sure to always follow up with them.

I'm a member of about 8 poultry groups on fb. Our CL is mostly repeats from fb. Plus I'm in a "network" of chicken folks I can call when I'm looking for something.

Just everyone is being real stingy with eggs right now. :/

And camping.

oh wow! only thing that sucks with sexables and selling is you get stuck with so many males, so either you grow them or give them away.
