You seem like a confident person. If you greeted me in a way that singled me out by a physical trait or aspect of my personality I would laugh it off and then never voluntarily spend time with you again.

I spent the bulk of my college days greeting my girlfriends by saying "hey b****!" and seeing nothing wrong with that. Now, I feel differently. That's not the way I choose to behave.

Agree with you up to a point. It should be silly, but isn't always. Words do have power, especially when used as labels with the intent to diminish a person's humanity, making it easier to use, enslave, or destroy groups of people. History is full of examples, and it is happening now in the middle east. Unfortunately, today's political correctness overload often acts as a barrier for more meaningful and healing discussion.
