as far as I can tell, today is Tuesday the 26th, so it is in fact the start of day 18. And start or end day 18? that is overthinking to be honest, do it that day at your convenience, unless you ran a hot bator then do it early day 18 or even 17. This its not that detrimental otherwise. It was not to imply you cant count, I am well aware of your intelligence my dear.

I love your videos and links Sally, I dont see blood vessels in your "Dip-down" video. I would say thats what I have going on here except for that . there seems to be a lot of veining . even more then 2 days ago. Its a white egg so...

I am too impatient to hatch I'm better not knowing what's going on .

I used to have to leave the house when hatch time came because I was awful about keeping my hands to myself. Still am to a point. Just read on sally something I had been doing that slows the hatch down and that is when they make their first external pip , sometimes I can see they havent piped through the whole membrane and it worried me they werent getting air so I would tear the membrane . Dont think I ever hurt one but now they have the air they need theres no hurry for them to get out.

How old are they Camping ? Do they have room to move away from that ? wats the coolest spot read ?
They spent the daylight back by the water but have been steadily creeping closer to the lamp. No thermo at the back, but I'll try to dig one out tomorrow.
@campingshaws these are what I used as my commercial brooders, Heat is a 60W bulb, heat in ONE corner of the brooder 95-100 decreasing 5 degrees weekly. Make sure the heat is in the CORNER so they can get away from heat as needed. non slip surface, I use layers of papertowels/wax paper (I put a few layers down so I can roll up top and its all ready to go under it, I can do that while chicks are in it) or pup pads, then pine shavings later, I use pre-pro biotics in the waterer, dip beaks. New chicks add clean marbles in the waterer for the first few days, if not using a quail waterer to prevent drowning. [COLOR=008080]Chick Pro and Pre Biotic vit cheap! That's pretty much what I've done. I don't like using the heat lamps but it's so cold that the bulbs weren't working. It's angled down to that one corner. Temp at the water was below 80 last night. They still seem pretty comfy. Touching, but not piled.
