I've got 2 one year old Silkies that stink at it. They've got some learning to do, but my other 2 are machines. Especially my little Silkie that's the photo for the photo caption contest right now. She rocks for hatching

I dont have any silkiebators

But I heard they are some of the best Broodys

OMG LoKo, you have got to get yourself a couple Silkiebators. They would be the Bees knees at hatching your quail eggs.

i have to lay down..granny my neck has been killing me ..been on the heating pad and muscle relaxers..hasn't helped any...good night all i sure enjoyed the hatches..

The other chicks picked the bits of shell off. Guess it's just a bit pink, not like a true bleed when they pip through a vein.

It's in the 30s tonight and my brooder is outside. I have other lamps but I'm out of heat bulbs. I've never left rowdy chicks in the bator and I'm nervous.


Also need goat collars because I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT tote them home another night. My arms aren't long enough.


Plus I'm out of sav-a-chick, low on layer, etc. etc.

You don't understand! I'm a MEDDLER. so I opened the bator yesterday at 5:30 am to candle and NOT AGAIN until this morning at 6 am to candle again. The pipped egg I turned has a bit of blood and it's KILLING ME to leave it set. But I don't want to mess up the other one. So I'm quilting.

You got them high dollar birds, me I jus got plain Hatchery stock bred RIR and pullet egg Dominickers.

I don't think they would, some are smaller & lighter than other Silkies. I would find you a little petite girl & I bet she would go to town hatching them.
