Quails are too much work for me, it didn't help that the lady had them in little rabbit cages... probably 10 per cage. The eggs weren't the cleanest.. the area was messy... they weren't free range like the rest of her chickens were. So that tells me they have to be confined????I guess. They just turn everything up real nice. So the dirt stays dry and sandy instead of wet chit lol
Chickens eat all kindsa poops and Lord knows what else![]()

I draped the heating pad over the coat hangers to make them a little cave. Since it's their first night in the garage, I just went out and put a couple more towels over the top for insulation. They felt pretty warm all scrunched together, and that's mostly because they were scared. Little while before this, the dopey dog took off out of the garage barking like mad and the chicks were scared and crammed themselves in a corner of the cage buried under the shavings. Took me a minute to find them! I thought they flew out!barely see mama up there. what is up with the coat hangers ?
