its that straw I put down this winter making it tall. It just hasnt rotted down yet.  then the peat I put this spring is not nice smelling.  If I took it out it will flood for sure unless it was replaced.

Straw takes a while to break down... I use wood shavings and throw all my produce scraps in the run.

Granny, don't buy more dirt to plant tomatoes. Pay chicken boy what it cost for each bag & have him dig the floor of your coop down. That will be some good chit

wouldn't it be to strong and burn the plants up? We use it but work it into the soil a month or more before we plant.

Well friends I'm pooped, think I will call it a night. Lots of stuff to get done tomorrow before the kiddos come & to get ready to be at their house next Monday & Tuesday. Sweet dreams & hugs for all :hugs
sweet dreams Lisa.

So at the farm yesterday I am just standing in the gen pop coop run looking at the yaks and one of the cows is just standing there sort of off by herself in a really weird position. back legs spread wider then front and sort of hunched over/up . I thought oh boy ohboy oh boy she's trying to calve NOPE not sure what she was doing but no babies from her that day.
