Yes! I had asked someone who uses broodies exclusively, and she thought is was part of the timing. They stay put of a couple of days after the chicks hatch to let them finish absorbing the yolk. Part of their programming. She's a very good mama. Acted like she was gonna kill me when I tried to pick up a baby. I moved her and the babies to a bigger pen on the ground. She was scratching and digging like a mad thing, but I was afraid for my life doing it. Mad as a wet hen ain't nothing compared to a broody mama hen!
